RESUMEN | Ante la existencia de este arma blanca, cada vez más popular por su capacidad de
fácil accesibilidad y ocultamiento, y que por su diseño, presenta un considerable potencial de
lesionar gravemente, pudiendo dar como resultado de un sólo movimiento cortes y desgarros, se
pretende dar a conocer sus características y modos de uso, a fin de prevenir y minimizar en la
medida de lo posible sus efectos en caso de confrontación, adecuando las medidas de
intervención.

The karambit, the great unknown

ABSTRACT | In the face of this increasingly popular bladed-weapon, given the easy accessibility &
concealment, and based on the considerable potential of being seriously injured due to its distinct
design resulting in cuts and wounds by a single knife-wielding action, it is intended to identify its
characteristics and forms of use in order to prevent and decrease, as long as possible, the resulted
effects in events of confrontation, therefore adapting the intervention measures.
